Where

I reside in Anchorage, Alaska.

The long (very long) road to and from Alaska, and back again:

I grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and my now-husband lived down the street. After high school, we pursued independent career paths and traveled often to visit each other. I followed my architectural dreams while Chris joined the Air Force and completed pilot training.

Just shy of a decade, our long-distance endeavors ended as I agreed to accompany Chris to his first assignment as an F-22 pilot. Together, in a dust storm, we arrived at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico. From New Mexico, we received orders to Alaska where I acquired my architectural license and worked for a local firm.

Alaska captured our adventurous hearts. We were disheartened to depart for a 2-year assignment at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, and finally found our way back to call Anchorage “home sweet home.”
